Family Day Out and New Milestones

So, yesterday Charles and I decided to take the boys out and at first we were just going to go to this small park about 3 ish miles from our house.  Keep in mind we do not have a car.  We packed up the boys, and began walking.  We got a chance to enjoy our new Graco Duo Glide Stroller!  The boys loved it.  We got to downtown Burlington, and decided to stop in quickly, and see Grandma at work.  We proceeded to walk toward the park we had decided upon, and that's when Charles asked about going to the park on the waterfront.  It isn't a big park and most bigger kids don't really go there so I agreed.  We got down there, and I began feeding Xander.  Jonas played on the swings and ran around with Daddy.  I then decided Xander should stay in the stroller with the weather shield on, because of the wind.  It began whipping through and it began to be too much for the little guy.  I took Jonas down the "big boy slide"  As we were going down, he yells "weeeeeeeeeeee!" Aren't kids amazing?  I think they are.  We were planning to spend another half hour or so at the park and continue on our day, but Jonas began trying to jump into the lake.. That is when we decided to leave.  Xander passed out and we decided it was a perfect time for new summer sandal shopping!  The boys each got a pair of sandals.  Jonas ended up with a Disney Pixar Cars backpack.  Then we had lunch and headed on home.  In all we walked about 6 miles!  I am proud of the boys for doing so well, and I am proud of us for the motivation to spend the day out and about.  I truly am proud of my family and I am proud of myself for walking so very far, for the first time, since I had Xander 5 months ago!

I also have a little video on YouTube of Xander trying to crawl.  He just needs to figure out how to move his hands forward as he moves his knees. The video is located here > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2QW-w66S_w  Enjoy!!

Scoot & Roll, Run & Play.

As I haven't been updating much, I figured I should try to bring everyone up to speed.
We've discovered how to do a lot of new things in our house.  Xander rolls , scoots and does "push ups" all the while trying to keep up with Jonas.  Jonas learns all sorts of new things, and amazes us with them.

We were all enjoying the weather on the porch one afternoon last week, when Jonas suddenly points up and says "Sky!"  Another instance, we were on the porch at night, he pointed up and said "Moon!"  Now when in the kitchen he looks at the light, and says "Moon"  He is totally convinced that the light is a moon, well, either that or being super silly.

Two days before Easter, Jonas had M & M's for the first time!  He liked them!  I was excited for Easter by this point, and the wariness had  finally subsided. On Easter sunday , Jonas woke, and I gave him his bucket of stuff.  He tried some pastel chocolate bunny, and so I decided to let him try a peep.  It just sat there and sat there, when finally Jonas grabs it, and bites the head off.  He looked at it, forced out the sad words "cheep cheep" and pushed it under a blanket. I sure hope he isn't traumatized.

Monday night, I was running around picking stuff up, I turned around to see Jonas' butt out of his diaper, and just as I was pondering how long he may have been standing like that, he turns around and slips it the rest of the way off, giggling and running away.  He made it to 22 months without a diaper removal issue.  I say he did prettty darn good.

It's been so long, too long.

I haven't updated our blog in so long.  I am trying to keep up with this blog faithfully now.  This post may be a bit long , this way we can get you all caught up on what's been going on around here for the last, year.

In the first weeks of March 2009, we discovered that we were expecting baby #2.  We found out at 19 weeks and 1 day , that this little blessing, was a boy.  Xander Eli  was born on November 10th 2009, weighing in at 9lbs 4.1 oz and 22 inches long.  He is now going on 5 months and is our happy little ball of energy.

Xander cut his first 2 teeth about 2 weeks ago!  He's already trying to crawl, and his favorite past times are trying to keep up with his big brother, jumping in his jumperoo, and absolutely no sleeping! (if he can help it)

Jonas Avery, will be 2 on May 29th 2010.  He loves to play and jump.  He can count (1,2,5,6,8,9) we're working on it!  He is going to see Sesame Street Live on April 21st.  He loves Wow Wow Wubbzy , Elmo and ball playing.  He recently discovered an interest in coloring with crayons, and not just the magna doodle.  He has also discovered , it's not SO bad to have a baby brother to play with!

Ok, so for now that is the update on the boys.  I am going back to college on April 26th 2010.  Charles is still working at his job, and continuing to support the choices I make.  Overall we are a happy healthy loving family.  Oh, I forgot to post, that we moved to a bigger apartment on January 29th 2010 and everyone is enjoying having their own space.  Lunch time awaits so I will end here for now.  Hopefully I will remember to update at least once every other day , if not every day!

Crawling.

Jonas has been doing the army crawl for weeks. We went and saw great grandpa, uncle duane and aunt traci, yesterday morning. Then we went to see Dr Lisle. She said my foot is doing great and that I don't have to go back until April! That's three whole months! I am used to seeing her once a week, then once every 6 weeks, now we have moved on to, every 3 months. She said Mommy and Daddy just need to stretch my tendon a bit during the day until I can stand, because I haven't been doing the stretching on my own. Then we came home, I sat on the floor with my toys for, maybe 30 seconds, then I was OFF! I suddenly took off crawling, completely with my belly off the floor. Mommy couldn't believe her eyes!

Today I have to get the second half of my flu shot. This stinks! It is my last shot until I am 12 months old though! I guess that's some good news.

So my little guy has gotten his first bug. He wasn't feeling good yesterday. He was super whiney and irritable. I wonder how today will go. I don't really have time to write here now, so will post more later.

Oct 31-Nov 4

Jonas did not go out for Halloween. Instead we stayed in and played, played some more , and finally played. lol We had a great night over all.
Last night, we sang to each other, while watching some lullaby programs (12 minutes each) on demand. He enjoyed every second of it. Gosh, he sure is growing!
This picture here, looks to me, that Jonas has some road rage! LOL He's "driving" his excersaucer around, and yelling. What a boy!
Jonas also had some friends over today,
made it all the way till 4pm before he passed out for a nap. When they left, within 2 minutes he was out. Impressive!
Tomorrow, we go for our WIC appointment, and I will update with his stats.

Jonas' Foot

Yay! Jonas' doctors appointment went so well! We were only there for like 5 minutes , in the exam room I mean. The doctor said his foot is great, and basically that he probably will not have problems in the future. Well , more than likely there will be no foot problems in the future. I am so proud!
